Winter holidays 2025 are here! Mothers, fathers, guardians, caretakers, uncles, and godparents dedicated to coming up with plans outside the home to entertain the little ones during the break. If you’ve already exhausted all indoor resources, it’s time to choose plans to do with kids in Buenos Aires. It can be theater, music, fairs, games, or outings. There are options for every taste, age, and budget. Here are more than 30 great ideas.

1. The Little Prince, a Musical Adventure

Now a classic of the winter holidays, this is one of the most acclaimed theatrical productions by the public. With a dazzling staging and a striking visual display, this musical features a great cast led by Juan Carlos Baglietto, Flor Otero, and Roberto Catarineu. It is inspired by the iconic work of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry and takes viewers on an emotional journey full of messages about friendship, love, and the importance of seeing with the heart.

2. Palacio Libertad

More than 500 activities specially designed for the whole family, including music, theater, literature, cinema, workshops, and games. Big shows include tributes to María Elena Walsh, the National Choir of Argentine Music, Mariana Baggio, the National Folkloric Ballet, Koufequin, and a concert with songs by Andrés Calamaro created especially for kids, among many other options.

3. La Plaza de los Chicos

During winter holidays, kids take over Paseo La Plaza with a specially curated festival featuring the best shows on the bill such as La Pipetuá, Magia Mash Up, Kuyen Huapi, Los Ravioli, Dafne y El Dragón, and Improcrash, among many others.

Also, performances by Mati Spano, one of the most viewed Spanish-speaking TikTokers who revolutionizes social media with his humor. Party closing? Take the chance to eat something delicious at Manduca, the gastronomic area inside the venue.

4. National Library

With free admission, the National Library presents a special curation for all kids during winter holidays 2025 including film screenings of movies like Dalia and the Red Book or Metegol. Additionally, there are tribute tours for the María Elena Walsh exhibition featuring works and archives from the artist; origami and optical toy workshops; and a series of animated short films with games for the little ones.

5. Proyecto Upa

Argentina’s pioneering theater company for babies encouraging art from the first months of life, has prepared a special program at various venues in different neighborhoods for these holidays, inviting families to enjoy, share, and be moved together.

During July and August, performances include Los Mundos de Manu at Teatro Roma, Luna & May at Espacio Infinito, Tiluc at Teatrarte, Circo a Upa at Taller del Angel, and many more for early childhood.

6. La Sirenita

Undoubtedly the mega-production of the season for kids and adults alike. Ariel, the little mermaid, is the youngest daughter of King Triton who, fascinated by the human world, makes a pact with a manipulative witch to go to the surface and win her great love.

7. Expo Rural

A unique outdoor experience to enjoy with the family, an ideal plan to learn about the countryside, connect with nature, and explore without leaving Buenos Aires.

With over 500 exhibitors and 2,200 animals of various species, this year there are many activities specially designed for the little ones, including pony rides, farm animal interaction, sowing workshops, tractor demos, a gaucho museum, and a drone track. 8. CCKonex for Kids

This year, CCKonex again becomes a gathering place for the whole family with activities including theater, music, circus, games, snacks, and much more. Some of the scheduled shows are The Nutcracker, Fulanos by Gerardo Hochman, Los Cazurros, Dúo Karma, Mundo Arlequin, Valor Vereda, Jam de Magia, and Vuelta Canela.

9. Magical Days

A magical experience in a truly majestic setting alongside the kids’ favorite heroes and princesses. 11. Circo Servián

Renowned for its internationally acclaimed artistic proposal, Circo Servián, now celebrating 177 years, presents its winter holiday season under a heated tent in Pilar.

12. Derechos Torcidos

13. El viaje sinfónico

A tribute to the universe of Ghibli, Japan’s most important animation studio, through live music and an unforgettable visual experience. 15. Canticuénticos

18. Dinosaurs and the Jurassic World

The world’s most important dinosaur exhibition featuring incredible, highly realistic animatronics faithfully recreating these majestic creatures that inhabited the Earth millions of years ago.

19. Festival del Patio

In a courtyard in the Coghlan neighborhood, the holidays come alive in this festival featuring pay-what-you-can theater, play groups, workshops, an open library, art space, and a healthy bar. 21. Había Otra Vez

The successful children’s book saga by Flor Suárez, Stories in Pajamas, comes to life in this amazing theatrical show adapted and directed by Emiliano Dionisi. When Helena was little, her mother made up stories for her before bedtime.

23. Vivitos y Coleando

26. Hércules a la Criolla

A fun children’s play that fuses Ancient Greece with Argentine folklore and asks: What if Zeus grew up among gauchos and gods? Between mates, the murga singers forming the chorus narrate the story of Hercules along with his not-so-faithful friend, the faun Porsiacasophones.

Both are forced by the goddess Hera to search for Zeus’s new temple but are stopped along the way by the hero Perseus, who is looking for his lost shield. Hercules must face great rivals and overcome terrible challenges to find answers to this mystery.

27. Suiza Pop

At Centro Cultural San Martín, a week packed with animation, videogames, literature, visual arts, and innovation. A free interdisciplinary event where kids and teens can participate in workshops, screenings, meetings, and unique experiences over five days. Participants can create their own video games, illustrated books, impossible portraits, and animated shorts from scratch in free workshops led by artists and developers from Switzerland, Argentina, Colombia, and Venezuela.

29. El Pulpo está crudo

Based on a book by Luis Pescetti, this musical show invites the whole family to dive into a quirky, poetic, and moving story with a talented cast of musicians, actors, and dancers accompanied by live sand art by Alejandro Bustos. Lauti arrives worried to band rehearsal: he’s lost a story. 31. La Odisea contada como sea

A journey to Ancient Greece with Anita, a substitute teacher who prepares all night to teach a class about mammals but finds out on arrival the lesson is about Greek mythology. In this one-person show, Elena Zago plays the confused teacher who must take on the roles of the characters from the myth of the Odyssey, leading kids on a magical adventure with Ulysses and his companions.
