Argentina is synonymous with a passion for sport, so we couldn't miss the chance to experience firsthand what it means to support Los Pumas at a rugby match. On Saturday, Vélez Sarsfield Stadium hosted the clash between the Argentine national team and South Africa. But the day started well before kick-off, with drinks, food and activities setting the stage for a different way to experience the game.

The blue-and-white jersey had yet to take the field, but the match was already underway in spirit. Play Patagonia's experience invited guests to take their time and enjoy the build-up, with cheese and charcuterie stations to snack on and share, grilled cuts of meat and a wide variety of food options as the stadium began to fill up.

Aperitifs, wines and specialty coffee accompanied the experience, completing the drinks offering during the pre-match gathering as the stadium gradually picked up the pace. First came the music. Then came the cheers, the songs and that growing buzz in the stands as kick-off drew closer. Vélez was already in match mode: anticipation turned into adrenaline, and every contested play sparked a reaction from the crowd.

Meanwhile, the space became a meeting point for rugby fans and figures from the sport, with everyone looking ahead to one of the biggest matches on Los Pumas' calendar: a clash against none other than the two-time world champions, the Springboks.

Entertainment also had its place, with giveaways, surprises and special guests. The event featured several legendary figures from Argentine rugby, including Juan Hernández, Manuel Contepomi, Rodrigo Roncero, Tomás Cubelli and Juan Imhoff.

When it was time to head to the stands, the experience changed completely. Around 30,000 people filled Vélez and brought their passion to every contested ball. On the other side were the Springboks, in a physical, intense match that was decided by the smallest details. This time, victory went to South Africa, who won 17-10.

But the match remained open until the very end. Los Pumas searched for the try that could have changed the story, and hope remained alive until the final minute, although the South African defense held firm. The defeat left a bittersweet taste, but also the feeling of having been part of one of those afternoons when rugby is experienced far beyond the pitch.

After the final whistle, several Los Pumas players came over to share the closing moments with the guests. Between conversations, photos and one last drink, the result briefly faded into the background. Because the Pumas Experience is about much more than the 80 minutes of the match: it's also about the food, the stories, the encounters and the chance to get a little closer to the world of rugby.
