Cape Town, you clearly love your Japanese convenience store vibes!
After opening its doors for the very first time this morning (Monday, 27 October), Kloof Konbini - located at 121 Kloof Street - sold out of almost all of its delicious offerings in just three hours.
Yes. Three hours!
Hungry Capetonians stormed the shop and gobbled up all the sandos and onigiri. But fear not, as Kloof Konbini has promised to stock up quickly in order to appease the masses.
We headed down to Kloof Konbini just before Capetonians came through in their numbers to support the new business. Check out the first look below:

Rebecca Aziz and Minchan Kim - the duo behind How's Your Oni, an authentic Japanese restaurant located in Green Point - alongside Duncan Geldenhuys are the brains behind this latest craze in the Mother City.
Speaking to Time Out Cape Town, Rebecca provided some insight into what led to the opening of the konbini.
"We decided to open a konbini in Cape Town because we just thought it was something Cape Town was missing! Many of our customers from How’s your Oni would say their favourite part of their trip to Japan was the convenience stores."
Important Details
Kloof Konbini is only open for the next 10 months - it's a pop-up after all. Their opening times are Monday to Saturday from 09h00 to 17h30.
Time Out Tip
You simply have to give their matcha soft serve a try! As our Social Media Manager Ishani Chetty aptly told me, "I saw that and knew it was over for me."
