As we settle into August, we’ll be seeing more Women’s Day events, which is always a good thing.

Don’t forget the Run for Dignity 5km and 10km fun walk/run happening in Greenpoint on Saturday. All the funds raised will go towards Girls With Wiings to purchase sanitary pads for women and girls in need.

Maybe afterwards, pop in at the Homecoming Centre for TEDxDistrictSix Women 2026. More informal and intimate than regular TEDx talks, this event has a curated lineup of 12 women whose ideas challenge, inspire and provoke.

The rest of the weekend is peak party central. Roll up to Cabo Beach for an R&B get-together, inspired by hits from the 90s and 2000s. And then Locnville will also perform at The Loft in Hout Bay on Friday.
