Your guide to the best experiences across the Mother City this Friday, 13 February to Sunday, 15 February.

Before we get started on this weekend’s events, I’m going full disclosure: No, this is not a Valentine’s Day gig guide, with one exception: a Valentine’s biscuit decorating session at Giggles and Grow Play Studio. But that doesn’t count because it’s strictly for kiddos only.
With that being said, I’m not going to be the Scrooge that stole Valentine’s Day. Check out Time Out’s Valentine’s Day Things to Do.
For the rest of ya’ll, some cool things are happening around the Mother City this weekend. From the Queer Book Club hosting a get-together at Cape Town Central Library to the Franschhoek Chamber Music Festival, it’s going to be a jam-packed few days.
Oh, and Happy Friday, the 13th! Is that a thing? Or am I just christening days in the year?

Make a date with books, stories, and fellow book lovers. For the Love of Books is a relaxed, welcoming Queer Book Club and Library Tour hosted by CTL in collaboration with Cape Town Pride.
Chester Missing and his sidekick Conrad Koch are back to tickle your funny bone. And during the Month of Love, nogals. Rumour has it that there’s a newcomer to the show, wannabe celebrity chef and real-life rat, Petit Pois.
Cape Town entrepreneur Rushda Moosajee is the female version of a hustler. This Friday, she invites you to ME FIRST, an intimate dinner party centred on self-prioritisation, confidence, and intentional indulgence.
If you’re a lover of Swing Dancing, this is your chance show off your moves. Hosted by Cape Town Swing, For the Love of Dance has a fantastic line-up of DJs playing all the music that brings them joy.
Time Out Tip: Even if you’re new to the genre, give it a try. The Beginner Taster class starts at 7pm.
Jeremy Loops will light up the Kirstenbosch stage with his trademark loop pedal magic and irresistible folk-pop sound. Loops’s high-energy performances are as much about community as they are about music. So bring along your lighters to get that IG shot just right.
Battle in the Plains || will feature bouts involving your fan favourites: Western Cape Champion Mika-eel Jacobs, Shameeg Williams, and Owen Venganayi. Rising star Saarah Karriem will make her Warrior Ascent Promotions debut, while Wassim Chellan returns to the ring for another performance.
The Galentines Pilates experience is not only for the ladies. So, bros, bring your game. There’ll be a DJ on the decks, goodie bags, and spot prizes.
Join Chosen for a high-impact session designed to help you build scalable income systems powered by blockchain innovation. Learn how to build and scale a complete “business in a box” using blockchain infrastructure.
A sweet and creative biscuit decorating session at Giggles and Grow Play Studio. Children will decorate Valentine-themed biscuits using icing and toppings, creating their own edible masterpieces to take home.
The opening round of the 2026 Killarney Drag Day series will see new combinations making their debut to challenge the reigning champions in both two and four-wheeled classes.
The Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra has had a busy start to 2026. Now, for the 5th year, it’s set to host the Franschhoek Chamber Music Festival, a mix of the most well-known and some lesser-known jewels in the chamber music crown.
How about spending Valentine’s Day gravel racing and trail running? The Ceder takes participants through climbs, fast descents, and river crossings. Think of it as the survivalist version of The Notebook.
