Cape Town isn’t just another postcard-perfect destination – it’s a city bursting with stories, flavours, late-night laughs and yes, the occasional gridlocked commute.

At Time Out, we’re usually the ones dishing out the latest on the hottest new restaurants, the coolest pop-ups and live gigs worth staying out for. Yes, even the odd secret spot many locals don’t know about yet.

But as summer approaches, we’re flipping the script – we want to hear from you. Tell us what it’s like, actually, to live in the Mother City at the moment.

Is the food scene serving up more five-star tasting menus or kasi kitchen comfort? Is public transport making life easier, or is it still a bit of a mission?

Where’s the best place to watch the sun set (and not pay a fortune for the view)? What are you spending your hard-earned Randelas on when you take some time out is also a big one - how affordable is it to have fun in your own city?

Take our quick survey (it won’t take more than 10 minutes) and help us paint the most honest picture of Cape Town right now – from its green spaces and street art to its nightlife, dating scene and everything in between.

You’ll be asked to rate things from 1 (awful) to 5 (amazing), and you’ll get a chance to share the little moments that made you smile recently.

Click here to take the survey – you just need to be 18 or older to join.

And while you’re at it, sign up for our free Time Out Cape Town newsletter so you never miss out on the best the Mother City has to offer, straight to your inbox.
