Can you believe it? It’s that time of year again when we start planning our festive leave and mapping out how to make the most of summer in the Mother City. And, of course, no Cape Town summer is complete without the iconic Kirstenbosch Summer Sunset Concerts.

Just imagine it: clear blue skies, lush gardens, delicious food and drinks, great company, and unforgettable live performances by some of South Africa’s top artists. It truly doesn’t get better than this.

So, who’s hitting the stage this year? Think chart-toppers like Mi Casa, Cape Town’s own star Will Linley, the powerful vocals of Belinda Davids paying tribute to Whitney Houston, and so much more. This season’s line-up is one for the books.

Time Out Tip: The queues can build up quickly and prime picnic spots fill fast, so arrive early to snag a great spot on the lawn. Don’t forget sun protection: a hat, sunglasses, and a good SPF are a must for that late-afternoon sun.

Good to know

Feel free to enjoy a drink (or two), but just a heads-up, there won't be any alcohol for sale at the concerts. So if you'd like something to sip on, make sure to bring your own!

Food will be sold at the garden, typically pizzas from experience, along with other goodies. However, if you'd prefer not to stand in queues and munch on your personal favourites, consider packing a picnic.
