Burger lovers, lovers of smashed wagyu burgers in particular, we've got some exciting news for you! Zuney Wagyu Burger will officially open its stall at the Cape Town Time Out Market next month.
It should come as no surprise that Zuney top our list of best burgers in Cape Town! So, prepare for a feast of deliciousness from 3 March, as Zuney joins a vibrant roster of acclaimed chefs and food brands at the Time Out Market in the V&A Waterfront.
Founded by Henning Klopper and Devin Wells, Zuney Burgers originated as Zuney Wagyu, an online business supplying premium Wagyu beef from the Eastern Cape to customers across South Africa. Recognising the opportunity to use surplus cuts that did not qualify as prime steaks, the founders launched Zuney Burgers, creating a sustainable, flavour-driven burger concept built on quality and responsible sourcing.
“We’re not just serving burgers; we’re serving our farm. Every patty starts in Zuney Valley in the Eastern Cape, where our Wagyu is raised responsibly and with intention. That direct farm-to-plate approach is what makes Zuney different,” says Klooper.

The opening at the market marks the third location for the popular Wagyu burger concept, which recently expanded nationally with the launch of Zuney Wagyu Burger Bar at Nine Yards in Johannesburg.
Diners can look forward to the brand’s signature menu items, including the Cheeseburger (Wagyu beef, American cheese, pickles, Wagyu-infused onions, house sauce and a light brioche bun), Wagyu Fries (hand-cut potato fries twice cooked in Wagyu tallow and seasoned with chip spice), and the indulgent Wacon (Wagyu beef and Wagyu bacon with American cheese, pickles, Wagyu-infused onions and house sauce).
