They say that a dog is a man’s best friend, and the Museum of Dogs in Cape Town is proving just that. The museum celebrates our furry friends and explores their history through stories and interactive displays. The museum also hosts concerts, workshops, movie nights and other social gatherings. Additionally, the space can be hired out for private functions.

The Museum of Dogs currently boasts various exhibitions: 

• The history of dogs in South Africa

• The influence of dogs on culture

• Personal stories on how dogs have influenced our daily lives

• A photography exhibition

• A ceramic exhibition

• Sculptures

• Humans: R100

• Dogs: Free

• Pensioners and students: R75

• Under 16: R50

• Under 10: Free

Time:

• Tuesday to Sunday: 10 am to 5 pm

 

Tips:

Although well-trained, on-leash furry friends are welcomed, note the museum is exclusively indoors and contains valuable, fragile objects.
