The Cascais Symphonic Orchestra's will perform a rendition of Strauss at the New Year concert

At the Black and Silver Hall of Casino Estoril, the New Year will be celebrated on January 7th with a delightful classical music concert. The Cascais Symphonic Orchestra presents a repertoire dedicated to the symphonies of Johann Strauss II.

Casino Estoril warmly welcomes 2024 with a captivating concert by the Cascais Symphonic Orchestra. On January 7th, conductor Nikolay Lalov will lead a musical program dedicated to Johann Strauss II. Recognized as the king of waltz, this maestro, composer, and violinist was particularly esteemed by royalty and dignitaries. Marking the 125th anniversary of the Austrian musician, the Cascais Symphonic Orchestra will present waltzes, polkas, and overtures by Strauss II.

The lineup includes 'Die Fledermaus Overture,' 'Tales from the Vienna Woods,' 'The Gypsy Baron,' 'Romance No. 2 (Dolce Pianti),' 'Diplomats Polka,' 'Csárdás,' 'Spanish March,' 'Blue Danube Waltz,' and 'Thunder and Lightning Polka.' Additionally, Eduard Strauss's 'Tritsch-Tratsch Polka' will also grace the performance.

Under the baton of Nikolay Lalov, who also serves as the conductor and artistic director of the Cascais and Oeiras Chamber Orchestra, the Cascais Symphonic Orchestra commenced its journey in 2015. Aiming to enrich the musical offerings in the Cascais region, it has firmly established a season featuring four to six concerts per year.

The concert takes place at 6:00 pm on the first Sunday of the month (and the year) at the Black and Silver Hall of Casino Estoril. Ticket prices range from €10 to €14.
