Lyric Opera of Chicago has found its leading man for next spring's production of Carousel. Steven Pasquale will star as Billy Bigelow in the Rodgers and Hammerstein classic, to be directed by Rob Ashford.

Pasquale, perhaps best known for the FX series Rescue Me, has an extensive list of Off Broadway credits, and last season starred in the Broadway musical adaptation of The Bridges of Madison County. He currently has a recurring role on CBS's The Good Wife. He joins the previously announced opera star Denyce Graves, who will play Nettie Fowler; no additional casting has been set.

Carousel, which will run April 11–May 3, is the third in Lyric's series of five Rodgers and Hammerstein stagings, following last spring's The Sound of Music and 2013's Oklahoma! They'll be followed by The King and I in 2016 and South Pacific in 2017. Tickets for Carousel are on sale now.
