Portland, Oregon singer-songwriter Katherine Paul grew up on the Swinomish Reservation in Washington, learning to play instruments at a young age and performing songs with her grandparents. Her recent album, At the Party With My Brown Friends, explores her identity as a queer Indigenous person and the empowerment she feels when she's with her BIPOC friends. She'll perform a selection of her guitar-driven indie-rock anthems during this streaming event presented by the Art Institute of Chicago, pairing Paul's music with artworks from its collection.
