This candy store in the Monadnock building (an outpost of the Highland Park location) is owned and operated by a woman named Gail. With short gray hair and wire-rim glasses, she looks harmless enough. But beware—the woman is a serious sugar pusher. Holding out samples of malt balls or chocolate-covered pretzels, she'll tell you "I can't put these back in the jar, so you have to take them." Oblige her, then stock up on truffles, gummy worms, nuts and sours. (You'll want to pick up a toothbrush, too, but those, unfortunately, aren't for sale.)
