The Cleveland-Marshall Moot Court Team invites you to this year’s annual Moot Court Night on February 10th, 2016, from 6:00–7:30 PM in the Moot Court Room. This year’s Moot Court Night will feature a team composed of second-year competitors Marilyn Eble and Kyle Hutnick, and a team composed of first-year competitors Anna Seiger and Robert Barbato.

Petitioner and Respondent meet before the Supreme Court of the United States to argue two issues: (1) When, if at all, does a police officer have a reasonable expectation of privacy in the locker assigned to him at his place of work? (2) When, if at all, can a police officer’s actions in the course of his employment constitute a hate crime under 18 U.S.C. § 249?

The presiding judges are the Honorable Alice Batchelder, from the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, Honorable Dan Aaron Polster, from the United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio, and the Honorable Donald Nugent, from the United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio.
