The Cleveland Museum of Art says
In the past three years, two major events have transformed the activity around the museum’s collection of Indian miniatures: the 2013 acquisition of nearly 100 works from India’s imperial Mughal court, and the 2014 opening of the new Indian and Southeast Asian Galleries.

Dr. Sonya Quintanilla, the George P. Bickford Curator of Indian and Southeast Asian art, will speak to you about this magnificent collection and provide a glimpse into the life of an Indian miniature prior to coming to the Cleveland Museum of Art. Moyna Stanton, Paper Conservator, will then share a selection of illuminated manuscripts and album pages to introduce you to the treatments that are performed in order to better preserve these complex and fascinating objects, as well make them ready for display.

RSVP by calling (216) 707-6819.

*This program is presented by the Womens Council of the Cleveland Museum of Art and is free and open to the public.
