Clarinet & Sax Master leads All-Star Quartet at Nighttown! Featuring: Ken Peplowski-clarinet & sax, Joe Hunter-piano, Peter Dominguez-acoustic bass, & Glenn Davis-drums.

One of the top clarinetists and tenor players of the 1990s till today, Ken Peplowski has helped keep the tradition of small-group swing alive. He made his professional debut at ten and played locally while growing up in Cleveland. After spending 1978-1980 touring with the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra (directed by Buddy Morrow), Peplowski settled in New York, freelanced in a variety of settings, and played with Benny Goodman. By 1987, he was a Concord recording artist and has since recorded frequently for that label, backing Mel Tormé and Rosemary Clooney, and leading his own sets including brilliant duets with guitarist Howard Alden.

Nighttown favorite Joe Hunter has released two popular CD's in recent years. Hunter is the pianist of choice in the Northeast Ohio area. He can be heard frequently in the Fat Tuesday Big Band, Swing City, and backing big name artists. He has backed many, including the legendary Tito Puente, and saxophonist David Sanborn, At Nighttown Hunter has backed some several top guns including clarenetist Ken Peplowski, and saxophonists David "Fathead" Newman, and Scott Hamilton. Joe Hunter is also on the faculty at Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C), one of the top jazz programs in the country.
