On June 7, 1916 the museum officially opened its doors to the public. This year, on the museum’s 100th birthday, guests can participate in a day-long celebration of this historic milestone. Visitors are invited to enjoy special programs, tours, live music, free entry to the centennial exhibition, "Pharaoh: King of Ancient Egypt" (no advance ticket reservations), and, cake. This event is free and open to the public.
