Museum of Contemporary Art Cleveland MOCA says
Lead poisoning. Water pollution. Smog. These are the industrial damages that still plague public health. Brandy Schillace (Research Associate and Public Engagement Fellow at the Dittrick Museum of Medical History, CWRU) and Scott Frank (Director, Shaker Heights Health Department) will give a talk about the industrial legacy that we still battle today (from burning rivers to gas explosions), and the ways Cleveland has sought to rise from the ashes.

A round table discussion will follow with MOCA Cleveland Deputy Director Megan Lykins Reich, who will position the conversation in relation to the exhibition Anders Ruhwald: Unit 1: 3583 Dubois. Currently on view, Unit 1 recreates an apartment in a Detroit building that the artist is actively restoring into a permanent installation about the city's cycle of transformation as reflected in its buildings and objects.

Free with museum admission (to see the exhibition!). Please register at http://bit.ly/dittrick-moca-2016

This is a Dittrick Conversations program in partnership with the Dittrick Museum of Medical History at Case Western Reserve University.
