The Beachland Ballroom and Tavern says
Cleveland native Tim Kirker returns to his hometown for an all-star show to celebrate the release of his latest album, Shallow End of a Deep River. Originally from the North Collinwood neighborhood—mere blocks from the Beachland Ballroom—Tim came of age during a musical renaissance. Soaking up the magical sounds of the British Invasion, and later, captivated by the likes of Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck, Mick Taylor, Peter Green and—making a hard left turn—jazz pioneers Wes Montgomery, Grant Green, Miles and Charlie Parker, he learned to easily incorporate a multitude of styles and genres into his playing.

He first met his musical compadres Michael Cartellone and Greg Wooten when, fueled by a desire to write and perform original material, they co-founded the power-rock trio Boy Wonder. Then there was Jewel of the Deep, where he first worked with Jennifer Lee and Danny Powers, followed by a band called Slam Bamboo and a #17 WMMS single called "House on Fire." After relocating to New York, Tim reunited with Michael, Greg and two fellow former Clevelanders—bassist John Papa, formerly of the Pony Boys, and keyboardist Doug Beck—in the alt-rock band PIN. Since then, Michael, Tim and John have continued to make music together: on Tim's previous release, Like Distant Sounds, as well as on his latest, Shallow End of a Deep River.
