Open Streets Walking Tour says
In the past five years, Open Streets have gone from a novel idea to a permanent fixture in cities looking to improve biking, walking and public space...and now it's coming to Detroit!
A 3.7-mile stretch of Michigan Avenue and Vernor Highway — from Campus Martius to Corktown and Mexicantown — will be a pedestrian-and-bike-only zone for two Sundays in coming weeks. Let the Detroit Experience Factory show you all the great history in Detroit’s Oldest Neighborhood, as well as highlight newly finished developments and other exciting projects in the works.

Tour highlights include Detroit landmarks like:
The Westin-Book Cadillac
The newly-redeveloped Detroit PAL site
Michigan Central Station

These tours are free and open to the public! Bring a friend and a comfortable pair of walking shoes. Thank you!
