Spring has sprung, and if your garden is crying out ‘help me ’, then it’s best you head to the Valley of 1000 Hills this weekend.
The Lifestyle & Garden Spring Show returns to the Vuleka Conference Centre in Botha’s Hill on 5 and 6 September, bringing together nurseries, growers, landscapers, garden suppliers, décor specialists, hobbyists and plenty of ideas for getting your outdoor space looking its best.
Supported by 1000 Hills Tourism, the show is as much about enjoying a spring day out as it is about figuring out what exactly to do with that plant you bought six months ago and promptly forgot about.

Everything from tiny gardens to big dreams
Whether you have a sprawling garden, a tiny balcony, a patio, a window box, or exactly one pot that you're desperately trying to keep alive, there should be something to browse.
Expect growers, nurseries, retailers, manufacturers and garden specialists showcasing everything from water-wise gardening solutions and greenhouses to drainage systems, garden products and landscaping ideas.
There will also be plenty of inspiration for the home, including statement art, stained glass, metal-framed gates and entryways, bespoke garden benches and ideas for creating circular features and fire pits from old bricks.

Come for the plants, stay for the classic cars
The show isn't exclusively for green fingers.
A selection of classic cars from Pietermaritzburg's Sunchasers Club will add a little four-wheeled nostalgia to the proceedings, while the tea garden will provide the important business of keeping visitors fuelled.
There'll be a coffee wagon, snacks, meals, and teatime treats to enjoy between browsing the stalls.
Your four-legged garden inspector is welcome too. Well-behaved dogs can attend on a lead, although you are responsible for cleaning up after them!

Take a tour of the Valley.
One of the most interesting additions this year is the arrival of Durban Tourism's Rickshaw bus. On Sunday, the bus will offer five free one-hour trips showcasing some of the attractions around the Valley of 1000 Hills.
Just keep your show entry wristband handy to climb aboard.
And if the show leaves you inspired to spend the entire weekend surrounded by greenery, 1000 Hills Tourism suggests turning the visit into a garden-themed self-drive through the Valley.
