Think you could be one of Durban Fashion Fair’s next faces? Here’s what you need to know.

Durban continues to cement its status as a leading fashion destination as the search officially begins for the next faces of the prestigious Durban Fashion Fair (DFF), celebrating its 15th year in 2026.
eThekwini Municipality has launched its highly anticipated 2026 DFF Model Scouting Roadshows, allowing aspiring models to step onto one of Africa’s leading fashion platforms and potentially kickstart a major career in the industry.
Chairperson of the City’s Economic Development and Planning Committee, Councillor Thembo Ntuli: “Through these roadshows, we are taking opportunities directly to communities and ensuring that undiscovered talent is given a platform to shine. We call on all aspiring models to attend and seize this opportunity.”
From 16 May to 6 June, scouting sessions will take place at key locations across Durban. Successful applicants will be selected for an intensive two-month training programme focused on:
Many previous DFF participants have gone on to work with major brands, appear in national campaigns, and walk international runways. Former beneficiary Cynthia Gumede said the programme transformed her confidence and opened doors to collaborations with leading designers and brands, including Tropika.

The DFF scouting process also arrives just ahead of another huge moment on Durban’s fashion calendar: the iconic Hollywoodbets Durban July taking place at Hollywoodbets Greyville Racecourse on 4 July. This year’s theme, Country Allure, is already inspiring mood boards across the city.
