Cape Town cookie sensation Mondvol is bringing its gourmet bakes to Kloof for one morning only, with a little green-and-gold gees thrown in for Heritage Month.

For far too long, we’ve been forced to watch on Instagram as the rest of South Africa fell in love with Mondvol’s famous gourmet cookies.
It’s Durban, we get it. We’ve come to accept that it’s just the way the cookie crumbles.
But then Sean Paul went and added Durban to his tour lineup, and now renowned Cape Town cookie store Mondvol has added KZN to its pop-up map.
Suddenly all the cookies are falling right into place.
Mondvol is bringing its pop-up experience to KZN, with Kloof getting the first taste! This iconic brand is setting up shop at Spar, Kloof Village Mall, on Thursday, 17 September from 9.30am to 11.30am.
So, Durban, it’s time we took a bite out of the action.

It’s a story that proves sometimes the biggest things really can start with the smallest crumb of an idea. Mondvol was born in 2021, after founder Andriette Georgiou was retrenched during the pandemic.
With little more than her Ouma’s Kenwood mixer, a love of baking, and a healthy dose of determination, Andriette began selling baked goods in her estate.
Now that’s one clever cookie.
This side hustle eventually grew into Mondvol, a female-led business selling its cookies across South Africa. From selling 38 Mondvol boxes and baking 228 cookies in one go at the start, the team is baking around 3 000 cookies a day.
Andriette, who was a runner-up on MasterChef South Africa Season 4, says the business has always been about more than simply baking.
“It really is only about spreading JOY. Every single person is worth celebrating.”
That philosophy has become central to Mondvol, with the business built around values including respect, kindness, creativity, bravery, inclusiveness and, naturally, an abundance of joy.

The Durban pop-up comes as Mondvol teams up with FlySafair for a Heritage Month collaboration that puts a proudly South African spin on one of the country's most loved sweet treats.
The Mondvol x FlySafair Heritage Cookie is a green-and-gold Peppermint Crisp Cookie, created to celebrate all the lekker things that make home, home.
The cookie is available on selected FlySafair flights throughout Heritage Month, giving travellers a little taste of Mzansi at 30 000 feet.
And because apparently one mouthful of excitement isn't enough, the collaboration also comes with a rather tasty competition.
Fancy winning R10 000 worth of flights and R5 000 worth of cookies? Visit the Mondvol site to enter.
One lucky winner will walk away with:
The winner will be announced on 28 September at 5pm on Mondvol’s Instagram.

While Mondvol may have started with baking, Andriette’s vision has always extended beyond the oven.
She wants to see Mondvol grow as a thriving female-owned enterprise and create opportunities for other women along the way.
It’s a philosophy that helped turn a pandemic-era survival plan into one of South Africa’s best-known cookie businesses.
And now, we’re finally getting a taste of the action.
Durban, come rain or shine, it’s time to get caught with our hands in the cookie jar this Thursday!
