Cultured Cocktails Benefitting Vbb says
Grab all your friends and stop by Boheme Cafe & Wine Bar on Thursday, July 30th from 5-7 PM to rub elbows with VBB’s board + staff, purchase copies of our brand new living room art catalogues and tickets to VBB's 2015 fundraiser honoring Lisa E. Harris, Paul Hester, Fady Joudah, Rick Lowe, and Delilah Montoya.

A portion of all drink sales from Happy Hour (5-7 PM) will go towards supporting Voices Breaking Boundaries' Borderlines initiative (which you can read more about below)!

About Voices Breaking Boundaries-
In 2000, Sehba Sarwar and four women writers and artists began Voices Breaking Boundaries (VBB) as a collective giving voice to artists and tackling social justice issues. Since its inception, VBB has received national funding and recognition for our innovative artistic programming yet our intrinsic goal has remained true to the founders’ intent. Today, VBB is best known for our living room art (LRA) productions that we produce in residential homes in Houston neighborhoods with the goal of exploring histories and creating global connections. Currently, VBB is working on our Borderlines project based in Houston's Near Northside and Gulfton neighborhoods. This project uses local borders as metaphors to uncover larger issues among global communities + border regions (Pakistan-India-Bangladesh and US-Mexico-Canada). Through this initiative, VBB works toward engaging audiences to raise awareness and establish communal connections by focusing on issues that are forgotten or disregarded in mainstream histories.

About Fresh Arts’ Cultured Cocktails-
Cultured Cocktails at Boheme Cafe & Wine Bar has become a popular weekly event that has grown tremendously over the past few years. Participating organizations receive 10% of all drink sales during the 5:00PM -7:00PM happy hour. Cultured Cocktails is a community building fundraiser in celebration of the arts, and since its inception in 2008 it has raised more than $72,000 for Houston Area artists and arts organizations
