The event creator says
The event will be hosted by Anis Shivani of the University of Houston Creative Writing Program and will include readings by Petrova as well as interactions with the audience.

Although Elina Petrova has had many poems published in English, this is her first full-length collection outside of her Russian and native Ukrainian publications. In this book she examines the nature of human existence with images tangled in the sometimes wondrous and sometimes devastating implications of nature itself.

Her poetry has been published in Texas Poetry Calendar, Illya’s Honey, Harbinger Asylum, FreeFall (Canada), Melancholy Hyperbole, Panoply, and the anthologies of the Houston and Austin poetry festivals. Her next publications are expected in the Texas Review and the upcoming Mutabilis Press anthology. She was recently nominated for the Pushcart Prize, and was a finalist for the post of 2015 Houston Poet Laureate.

She is a shining mainstay of Poets in the Loop, an almost constant presence at Rice University Gallery's Words & Art Series and a member of Houston's 100 Thousand Poets for Change.

Much thanks to editor/designer Glynn M. Irby for his invaluable contributions to this book.

Elina would like to thank The Fabulous Billie Duncan for being her Facebook muse as well as for being rather amusing in any case.
