DATE: Sunday, April 17th, 2016
TIME: 12-4pm
LOCATION: Silver Street Studios Hallways

Writespace is partnering with FotoFest's Literacy Through Photography program for FotoFun Family Day, a FREE day of creative fun! Taking place just a few days before Earth Day, this festive event of art and learning will feature a full menu
of activities enabling visitors of all ages to create original works of art while exploring their relationship to the natural world.

Writespace will host readings throughout the day by local Houston author Marion Young, who will read from her book Love Circles the World, an enchanting peek into cultures around the globe. Its message of love and family is so simple it’s sublime. Kids will enjoy fun craft activities based on the book, including a coloring station.

Writespace will also offer a fun ekphrastic writing challenge! Participants should pick up a writing challenge handout from the Writespace table, and then visit the art displayed in Silver Street's hallways. Kids will write their own poems and stories in response to the art. Writespace will post entries on our Facebook page throughout the day. Like and share your favorite art-inspired writing! The winner will receive a free copy of Marion Young's book, a gift certificate for one of our upcoming young writer's workshops, a copy of the Our Space anthology, and a Writespace mini notepad!

This event is Free and open to the public
