Free Fieldwork Sessions In July ... says
Hey Hey,

This is a public call for anyone that might be interested in fieldwork. Feel free to message me with any questions and to invite anyone you think might be interested ...

Curious if anyone is interested in getting a summer Fieldwork session going? I have some work I'd like to get some feedback on. It would be a short session for those who are curious about Fieldwork and the Field Process could try out for size. I am thinking 5 to 6 weeks, more or less.

We will have 2 fully produced sessions this year. One in the Fall and one in the Spring. There is talk that DSH will be producing another 12 mins max and work processed in this summer session would be eligible for submission to the next call.

Let me know if you have any interest and preference in Daytime or Evening sessions. I usually facilitate on Monday evenings 7 - 9pm but I am open to finding other days and times that work for folks.

CORE is also looking for folks that might be interested in training to be a facilitator.

Below is the Fieldwork info for those that are not familiar.

If you'd like to talk in person let me know ...

CORE, in partnership with Dance Source Houston and The Field NYC, presents the summer session of Fieldwork Workshops at The Barn.

Are you a choreographer who wants feedback on your newest dance? A writer who needs a regular meeting to help keep you motivated to write?

If you’re an independent artist, no matter your art form, participating in a Fieldwork workshop can give you support to grow your work by: providing feedback, offering a solid goal, helping you find language to describe your work, and supplying a venue to showcase (informally) what you’ve created.

Test ideas with a live audience
Gain new insight into your artwork
Hone your critical perception and creative thinking
Develop an effective communication forum
Receive inspiration from and connect with a local community of artists
Be motivated by a weekly deadline

The Fieldwork method originated in New York over 25 years ago, and CORE has been offering Fieldwork workshops for the Atlanta arts community since 1992. The workshops will provide support, structure, and community to help artists immerse themselves fully in their creative work. The feedback method reveals how each piece is perceived by others and provides detailed information that helps artists hone their vision. By focusing on what’s happening in the work and how those choices shape the work, Fieldwork supports autonomy and authorship of each artist.

Fieldwork is made possible through the partnership of CORE and Dance Source Houston with The Field (NYC).
The mission of Dance Source Houston is to nurture and support contemporary dance artists, the organizations that present them, and to identify and build audiences for contemporary dance in the greater Houston area. For more information on The BARN and Dance Source Houston visit
