BETA Theater says
As part of the Rush Process Festival of Handcrafted Animation, BETA Theater and Rush Process present an improv-meets-animation workshop. Inspired by Beta's long-running Make-A-Movie Night, scribblers, writers and improvisers will join forces to rapidly write and produce a collaborative animated movie using paper, pens, scissors, and multiple handcrafted techniques.

No previous animation experience necessary.

This event is free!

Rush Process celebrates DIY, handcrafted animation as a vehicle for self-expression. Organized by Houston filmmaker Dave Merson Hess, the festival brings a diverse selection of stunning, new, non-digital animated works that touch upon a range of genres and techniques–including documentary, narrative, stop-motion, paper cut-out, and scratch-on film animation. Competition films were selected by artist jurors Jennifer Levonian of OOF Collective; Sundance Jury Prize-winning stop-motion animator Adam Parrish King as well as Ash and Bryan Kramer of Drifter Pictures. Special thanks to DZED Systems LLC and Fandor for their support in providing prizes.
