Intersections 2016 says
Houston's great minds are meeting this November and we can't wait to see how they'll come together to address health, culture, sustainability, prosperity and social justice in Houston. See the speakers and agenda here:

Intersections is a cross-disciplinary conference on the big issues facing the growing Houston region. None of these issues are separate and neither are the solutions. Through this conference we'll foster synergistic thinking and collaboration by bringing different people together to demystify the mechanisms for creating sustainable change. Join the mix - you might have a great idea someone needs!

In three days, we'll have over 40 speakers, workshops, tours and interactive labs - where you'll come to better understand:

- The complexity of our region's challenges
- The significance of your work in relation to others and
- The tools you have at your disposal to make solutions a reality

We'll focus on how local and global leaders are looking to nature and walkable urbanism to address pressing issues in the areas of health, culture, sustainability, prosperity and social justice. A few examples include:

- The transformative power of nature and play in obesity and mental health, especially in children
- Environmental restoration and resilience in the age of flooding
- Neighborhood revitalization and ethical, transit-oriented development

The audience will include activists, architects, engineers, environmental scientists, restoration ecologists, planners, real estate developers, educators, governments officials, health professionals, hackers, artists and more.

We work hard and play hard - you won't want to miss Ignite Houston on the Friday Night Deck Party - with the most epic view of Downtown you've ever seen.

Where will the money go when you purchase a ticket? It will go to support local farmers and chefs, who'll be providing local, mostly organic food for all the conference meals, to support scholarship tickets for students and low-income members of the community to be able to come, too, to some really inspiring speakers doing important work throughout the country and 50% of the proceeds will go to the Texas Children in Nature Houston Collaborative - whose mission is to make sure every kid in Houston gets a chance to see the stars, play in the mud, explore their neighborhood park and just get to be a kid while they are one.

We can't wait to see how our leaders come together to hash out transformative ideas and solutions together. Be part of the movement. For more info on speakers and agenda, and to register, visit #Intersections2016
