The University of Houston MSA says
The UH Muslim Student Association is excited to announce that Islam Week will be from November 2nd to November 5th! Open to everyone of all faiths, the goal of Islam Week is to raise awareness about Islam and remove misconceptions through open dialogue. It will be an exciting week full of events that will give students on campus a real insight to Islam, and what being a Muslim entails.

Every day, we will have different events set up from 11 am to 3 pm. Below is a lay out for each day during Islam Week:

Monday, November 2nd: We’re kicking off the week with “Global Day”! Come learn about where Islam has spread throughout the world and try some free food from different cultures! Location: PGH

Tuesday, November 3rd: “Quran for Coogs” Come learn about the Holy Book in Islam and why we believe in it! We’ll have our “Fatiha Challenge” for FREE SHIRTS! Location: PGH

Wednesday, November 4th- “Cookies for Cards” We’ll be learning about what Islam says about community service. Come write a “Get Well Soon” card for local hospital patients and get a cookie for doing so! Location: UC South

Thursday, November 5th- We’ll wrap up the week with “Conversation Couch”. An IW tradition, Conversation Couch is where students come and spin our “Wheel of Topics” and see how different topics relate to their faith and to Islam. We’ll have FREE HENNA and lots more! Location: Butler Plaza (in front of the MD Anderson Library)

Have you ever wondered what Muslims believe? Or why Muslim women wear scarves on their head? Or why they don’t eat bacon??

Get ready to have all your questions answered and more during ISLAM WEEK! Grab a friend and stop by anytime between 11 to 3. We can’t wait to see you all there!
