While companies should build their own social media presence and relationships, they also can work with established events, influencers and complementary brands to make a bigger impact. In addition to having its own strong social media channels, Kroger works with influencers and partners to build loyalty with its customers. We will talk with the public relations manager for Kroger Southwest (Texas and Louisiana) and the co-creator of the Houston Bloggers group and the Blog Elevated conference.
Some of the things we will discuss include:

• How to partner with others in social media
• Importance of establishing meaningful relationships with influencers
• The benefit of partnerships and sponsorships and how to find the right one
• Working through issues in a corporate environment
• Making a national brand feel local in social media
• Measuring success in social media

SPEAKERS
Kristal Howard is an award-winning PR & corporate communications professional offering writing, editing, publicity, social media, marketing, reputation management, branding, sports partnership, community relations and event planning expertise along with proficiency in agency, freelance and corporate settings. She’s a University of Houston graduate and has been in the industry since 2005.

Presently, she’s contributing her talents to Kroger, a Fortune 50 company. She’s recognized by PR News as one of the “Top 30 under 30” in the field. Progressive Grocer also recently named her one of the Top Women in Grocery−one of the food industry’s highest honors.

When she steps away from the office, she spends time as a career development speaker, volunteer with Dress for Success and youth mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters.
