Frontier Fiesta is the oldest tradition on the University of Houston's main campus. It is a student-run, student-led event founded in 1939. Throughout the three day event there are: scholarships awarded, Broadways-style variety shows, as well as cultural and educational performances.

In addition, carnival booths and a 5K race are brought in, while concerts, Family Fun Day, and a state-sanctioned cook-off competition takes place as well; all in the name of bringing the university community and the City of Houston together.
