Houston authors David Theis, Emily Fox Gordon, and Gardner Landry will read from their work on the outdoor stage at Bohemeo's at 6 pm on May 3. Bohemeo's food and drink menus will be available. 708 Telephone Road.

David Theis is a long-time Houston writer. He graduated from the University of Houston Creative Writing Program in 1988, and not long afterward became the Houston Press' film critic. His nonfiction has appeared in national and regional publications. Theis' 2002 novel Rio Ganges was set in Mexico City; his current work, Darkest Light, from which he'll be reading, is also set in the Mexican capital and also in Houston.
The Houston Arts Alliance awarded Theis an Individual Artist Grant for his work on this novel-in-progress.

Emily Fox Gordon is the author of two memoirs, MOCKINGBIRD YEARS and ARE YOU HAPPY?, a novel, IT WILL COME TO ME, and, most recently, a collection of her personal essays, BOOK OF DAYS.

A 1985 graduate of Vanderbilt University, Gardner Landry has worked in branding, marketing and corporate and organizational identity for over 25 years. He garnered
a few medals at the Houston Addy awards several years ago when he was working as a hired-gun copywriter. He has also written magazine articles for a variety of
publications. A play he wrote,, was a finalist at the 2004 Tennessee Williams One-Act Play Competition at the New Orleans Literary Festival.
