Houston Audubon says
Houston Audubon is pleased to announce that Deborah Cramer will be appearing at the Lone Star College Book Festival on April 9th.
Deborah Cramer is the author of two natural histories of the sea--Great Waters: An Atlantic Passage, and Smithsonian Ocean: Our Water Our World—and now a new book, The Narrow Edge: A Tiny Bird, An Ancient Crab, and An Epic Journey. In The Narrow Edge, award-winning author Deborah Cramer logs in thousands of miles accompanying a tiny shorebird—the red knot--on its extraordinary migration from the tip of South America to the icy Arctic, witnessing firsthand how its fate is intertwined—with ancient horseshoe crabs whose blue blood safeguards human health—and with our own. The Narrow Edge is a firsthand account of the tenacity of life along the sea edge, and an inspiring portrait of loss and renewal, courage, and beauty. Join her on the journey, to explore what’s at stake, for shorebirds, and for us, and to consider why, and how Texas has become critical to this story.
