Pride Week Discussion: Queering Food Justice
More Less
Rice Queer Resource Center says
Come to the McMurtry Library at 4pm this Thursday, April 8th to learn about "Queering Food Justice" from SWGS professor Dr. Carly Thomsen. Discussion to follow.

This discussion will explore food justice, food politics, and food issues through the lens of queer studies. Queer studies has long asked questions about our desires--political and otherwise--and their relationship to social justice. Dr. Thomsen will begin by explaining some queer studies concepts. Because this discussion is meant to be engaging and interactive--a space for imagining together--we will then collectively work to think about how these concepts can be useful for examining and addressing food justice issues.

Everyone is welcome; we hope to see you there!

The McMurtry Library is located through the McMurtry College commons and up the stairs next to West Servery. Contact mae4@rice.edu if you need further information.
