Join us for a Q&A between HCCC Executive Director, Perry Price, and Assemblage Artist, John Mark Sager.

Following the Q&A, Sager, who is featured in "The Art of Found Objects", will be signing copies of this award winning book by Robert Craig Bunch.

About Perry Price:
Perry Price is currently the Executive Director at the Houston Center for Contemporary Craft. Before he came to HCCC, he served as Director of Education at the American Craft Council in Minneapolis, MN.

Price has a BA in history of art from The Johns Hopkins University and a MA in museum studies from the Cooperstown Graduate Program: State University of New York at Oneonta and the New York State Historical Association. He has worked in several museums and cultural institutions, including The Baltimore Museum of Art, Fenimore Art Museum, Robert Hull Fleming Museum, and Fuller Craft Museum, where he was curator of exhibitions and collections.

About John Mark Sager:
John Mark Sager is an Austin based artist. He received his BA from Texas Lutheran University (Seguin, TX). Sager’s unique artworks have been exhibited across Texas and from Washington D.C. to New Zealand. His altered books have been honored by the McKinney Avenue Contemporary (Dallas, TX) and chosen for national competitions in Denver, Taos, Albuquerque, Galveston and Portland, Oregon. He has received a dozen jurors’ awards, including “Best of Show” at the Waco Art Center and two purchase awards from Concordia University Austin. His new work was again selected for display at Austin City Hall in 2017.

Sager's exhibition, Asymmetry and Perimeter, is currently on display at Hooks-Epstein through Saturday, February 18.
