BikeHouston says

City Hall: 2:00 pm. Fill the hall with bicycling supporters. (Rail, Drive, Uber or Bike in) This is a big deal. It is the final public session before the City Council Members vote on the Houston Bike Plan. We don't have a guarantee that it will pass - so we need you to show up!

Rides to City Hall:
1:00 pm roll out from Tour De Hood compound, 2305 Wheeler. (join us at the Compound starting at 11:30 am for snacks, bring your lunch, street parking available)

1:15 roll out from BikeHouston Office, 3610 Fannin. (Street Parking only and limited. Riding is the best option)

Let's get a whole big crowd in City Hall so Council Members see how important this plan is to the #realpeopleridingbikes in Houston.

It will be fun and meaningful. (And if you can't attend - definitely send or re-send your email to Council Members asking them to vote yes for the plan).

The Houston Bike Plan launched in 2014 following from the Goal Zero Campaign to eliminate the deaths of people riding bicycles in Houston. It is a visionary plan for Houston to build 500 more miles of high comfort bikeways in Houston in 10 years to get more people riding, fewer crashes and fatalities. It is our first bike plan in 22 years, so passing it really makes a statement. Some Council Members are questioning why we need a plan and asking if its worth the money.

Sign-up to speak by emailing the city secretary, citysecretary@houstontx.gov, and providing your name, address, topic, and how long you want to talk (1, 2, or 3 minutes - 1 min. speakers go first)
