The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston says
Slow Art Day is a global event with a simple mission: Help more people discover for themselves the joy of looking at and loving art.

An annual event with participating institutions from across the world, Slow Art Day encourages everyone to visit local museums and galleries to look at art slowly and then meet to talk about their experiences. The event's goal is to focus on art as well as the art of seeing.

Important Information
• To allow for time to experience the art, start your self-guided viewings between 1 p.m. and 1:30 p.m.
• At any of the admissions desks, pick up a floor plan, which marks the location of the five artworks, then visit each for 10 minutes each. (Tip: Grab a camp stool, provided free of charge, so you can sit comfortably at each location.)
• At 2:30 p.m., go to the designated location on the floor plan to meet all the participants for a discussion—facilitated by a Museum educator—of your observations and insights.

This program is free with general admission! RSVP to this event or slowartday@mfah.org
