The event creator says

For me, dancing has been a way to gently and safely expand my consciousness. Some times there are ideas and solutions that we need, but they are locked away in our unconscious mind. When we are moving together, on a path formed by the music, it seems to me like it becomes easy to see things from a different perspective. Just the act of physically following along with the dance somehow lets the doors of perception stand slightly ajar. Then I can try on different ways of moving, which are new ways of being.

When I flow like that from one vocabulary of body language to another, it reminds me that my true identity is not the posture I may take at any one moment. I am still myself even in many modes or postures, because at the core level, I am the flower, the one who flows. This is a great way to get unstuck, and get outside the everyday mental quagmires.

No experience is required and no special ability is necessary to experience higher states of consciousness through ecstatic dance. That being said, I also believe that the more we experience ourselves as the flower, the one who flows, it has developed, at least for me, the special ability to surpass mental obstacles. I invite you to come and test it out for yourself, this Sunday at M.A.T.C.H., 3400 Main Street, Houston, Texas. We have a soft start time around 10:30, with the main bulk of people arriving before our 11:00 opening circle. Thereafter, we have a musical journey for 78 minutes, and a brief closing circle.

Thank you for reading, I hope you enjoy the rest of your day.
