Tailgate on McGowen celebrates the local favorites in spirits, breweries, barbecue, and bands made in Texas before the Big Game for an all day party in the parking lot of Mongoose versus Cobra.
Join hosts Mongoose Versus Cobra, Leon's Lounge, Harlem Road Texas BBQ, and emcee "Outlaw Dave" of the Outlaw Dave Show for a one-day-only menu creation of unique drink recipes, limited availability, one-off microbrews with big flavor, plus true Texas BBQ, while you jam out to a lineup of live music for this morning to night, VIP party without the VIP price.
Six Houston breweries are crafting once in a lifetime beers for your palate to savor. Enjoy custom brews available only at the event, created by 8th Wonder Brewery, Eureka Heights Brew Co, Lone Pint Brewery, Southern Star Brewing Company, Saint Arnold Brewing Company and Town in City Brewing Company breweries.
Specially curated cocktails made with homemade mixers by Mongoose Versus Cobra will feature Texas spirits from Republic Tequila, 1876 Vodka, Yellow Rose Distilling, and Dripping Springs Vodka and Gin and will be flowing all day and at the after-party.
Chef Ara Malekian of the highly anticipated Harlem Road Texas BBQ will satisfy cravings for classic, true Texas barbecue fresh off the rotisserie and smoker for a first taste before the restaurant opens to the public.
Four native Houston bands will perform throughout the day. The concerts will kick off at 11am with back-to-back performances from Blaggards, Soulshine, Edgebrook, and Mystery Loves Company.
After the Tailgate, the party will move inside where each bar will continue serving specialty cocktails and punch while guests stay for the final concert by Mystery Loves Company and beats by DJ Kon Fusion from 11pm to 2am.
