Texas Independence Day says
If there’s one thing Texans agree on it’s this: Texas is awesome. Each March, it grows one year more awesome.

On Thursday, March 2, we’re celebrating our great state with a Texas sized Lunch Special: Texas Independence Steaks. From 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM, $23 will get you get a ribeye, roasted potatoes, and beer. Want a salad? That’s cool, but we will have you sign a certificate renouncing your Texas citizenship.

The next evening – Friday, March 3 – Pub Night is going Texan. We’ll be open until 10:00 PM, and one of our original beers is making a long anticipated return. Yes, Texas Wheat will be on tap for a one-night-only appearance. (Not an April Fools joke this time, we promise.) We’ll have some Texas Wheat pint glasses available to pair with our retro Kristalweizen.

Also that night, two brave Texans will get the chance to prove their pride with our Steak Eating Contest. The two contestants will be chosen at the event and then go head-to-head to finish a 72 oz. steak meal. The winner gets their meal comped and an amazing prize. The loser pays the tab ($54.99 + tax) for his/her own meal.

Houston Dairymaids will also be on hand that night, serving up some delicious Texas Beer and Texas Cheese flights, available for purchase.

If you’re not up for a full-on eating competition, the rest of the Pub Night food menu that evening will have you covered with Steak, Redfish (with all the fixings), Chicken Fried Quail Bites and Pecan Pie.

Joystix will be bringing Texas-themed video games, and Mexican Blackbird will be spinning the best vinyl country music for your listening pleasure. Our friends at Paris Texas Apparel Co. will be slinging their Texas-inspired clothing, so you can be fully Texan for the evening.
