HOUSTON — Each quarter, Visual Arts Alliance (VAA) hosts professionally-juried art shows as part of the effort to create more opportunities for established and emerging artists alike to connect with the viewing public. On Wednesday, November 2, VAA will host an opening reception for the 34th Juried Membership Exhibition from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., with an awards presentation at 7 p.m. The exhibition will be on display through Saturday, December 3, at Spring Street Studios (2nd Floor), 1824 Spring Street. Zoya Tommy, owner of Zoya Tommy Gallery, juries the exhibition.

Zoya studied painting at Rhode Island School of Design and came to Houston to complete a Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Houston in 2003. Originally from Trinidad she has travelled to Europe, Middle-East and been inspired by beauty and art all her life. She is a painter and has expanded her career to the business of art.

As part of its educational outreach, VAA presents monthly programs that are open to the public. There is no charge to attend any of the presentations and registration is not necessary. For more information, visit

Visual Arts Alliance (VAA) is an educational organizatio for serious practitioners of the visual arts and interested members of the general public. Founded in Houston, TX in 1981, VAA is an all-volunteer-run, 501(c)3, nonprofit organization.
