Time Out says

MUZA, one of Israel’s foremost museums for craft and design is a homage to the country’s past, present, and future.

MUZA, The Eretz Israel Museum is a contemporary cultural oasis, located in north Tel Aviv, just 10 minutes from the city center. The multidisciplinary museum focuses on the fascinating connection between Israel’s matter and spirit - digging deep into the parallels between cultural domains. From archaeology and ethnography to applied crafts, art, and photography, the MUZA reveals all these connections in Israeli society.

Contemporary Creativity

MUZA is one of the three largest museums in Israel, boasting rare international treasures. Stretching over 20 acres and composed of over 15 buildings, it’s a playground for the art curious and art lovers alike, including a planetarium and eatery. For the last two decades, the museum has held biennales focusing on contemporary creativity in specific materials such as glass ceramics and more. In the Tel Aviv Biennale of Crafts & Design, an innovative museum event launched in 2020, different fields of crafts and design the are dynamically combined into a single exhibition and scattered throughout various spaces throughout the museum, in dialogue with the permanent displays.

OUTDOOR FUN

At the end of the summer, the MUZA Orchard will open, which will be characterized by the regional horticultural vegetation. The orchard will be open to the city and residents will be welcome to enjoy outdoor exhibitions and museum activities.

Something to look for

"The 23-24 season at MUZA will be exciting in terms of the diversity, scope and uniqueness of the exhibitions,” says Ami Katz, CEO of the museum. “In conjunction with the opening of the spectacular orchard, we will be a must - visit in Tel Aviv.” Until December, the exhibition "Local Nature, Global Nature" will be on display, and in parallel, the Tel Aviv Biennale of Arts and Design 2023 will be on display through November. In December, the celebrated ‘Local Testimony’ exhibit will open, marking 20 years. The exemplary exhibit also encompasses the World Press Photo exhibition of press photographs from all around the world. During 2024, MUZA will present two international artists whose works will be based on and integrated into the museum's collections.
