Shutterbugs take note: the fifth International photography festival, a 12-day extravaganza with 25 exhibitions and 25 special events featuring artists from Israel and around the world, will come together this month to showcase a world of perspectives.

The International Photography Festival was initiated by the Art Platform, an independent nonprofit organization run by philanthropists, photographers, artists, and social activists. They volunteer in the community with the aim of advancing the vision of “a better society through the language of photography.”

Among the events is the first-ever photography marathon in Israel, an interactive photography event with photography challenges throughout Tel Aviv.

There will also be a White Night event with music, events, and alcohol.

The exhibitions will include international and Israeli projects, among them exhibitions like the legendary Indian artist Raghu Rai, showcasing an incredible visual portrayal of India and the major events that have taken place there over the last 50 years. There is also an exhibition with Italian photojournalist, Paolo Pellegrin, which portrays the chaos in the Arab world since the 2003 invasion of Iraq, and finally, I Believe I am Gay, an exhibition which features portraits of religious people from the gay community in Holland – Christian, Muslim, Jewish, Buddhist, and Hindu.

Opening November 23 at 17:00, on display through December 2. Midtown Tel Aviv, 144 Menachem Begin Rd (photographyfestival.co.il)
