The very first Hungarian modern ballet company is adding a contemporary twist to the classic opera that shocked and scandalized audiences in years past. Inspired by the sharp plot twists and sudden changes in Carmen's music, Vincze's adaption casts the spotlight on Don José as the central figure of tragedy. His emotional agony is accentuated through vibrant imagery, acrobatics, and original decor, and a colorful cast of 16 dancers.
