What if someone told you to write a play and perform it within 48 hours?

The Stage in Tel Aviv is doing just that! Holding an Act-A-Thon starting Oct. 11 within a 48 hour time span a community of professional and non-professional writers, producers, directors and of course, performers will get together to write not one..., not two..., but SEVEN original plays in English.

To start off the Act-A-Thon participants will draw a word or sentence provided by audience members  who were asked to submit inspiration from a hat, to influence what direction their play might go in.

At the end of the Act-A-Thon on Oct. 13 the plays will be performed. Tickets to the production are 30 NIS, 25 NIS for soldiers and if you purchase a ticket you might be able to see if your suggestion comes to life on stage. Audience members can keep track of the process via Instagram with the hashtags #actathontlv and #48hourshortplayfestivaltlv.

The Stage is not only holding this Act-A-Thon but also various workshops between October and December. The new workshops being introduced to the space include, The Artist’s Way based on the book by Julia Cameron and Improvisation 102.
