While every month should be Women's History Month, March formally brings women – and men – together to celebrate and commemorate the women of the world, whether poet laureates, politicians, neuroscientists, mothers, daughters, sisters, shop owners or clerks. This year, the Holon Theater is shining the spotlight on female artists and performers to highlight their creative assets within the Israeli art world.

The annual Women's Festival, which will take place from March 7-10, under the title "Women Like Us," will present a diverse range of musical genres, styles, and flavors by Israel's leading artists. From the West to Israel, Yemen, Ethiopia and the Arab world, this festival travels around the world and back in just four days.

Here's a taste of the festival lineup:

Eli Degibri & Holon Big Band will pay tribute to the matriarchs of jazz: Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Nina Simone, and more.

The group will be joined by three matriarchs of today's local music scene: Miri MesikaLina Makhul, and the ever-soulful Ester Rada.

The Jerusalem Orchestra East West will perform in four different languages – inviting the Yemenite women of A-Wa to do their thing, as well as Ella Daniel to sing French chansons, and the one and only Nasreen Qadri to perform an eclectic mix of her own music and Egyptian classics.

Ethio-Israeli singer-songwriter AvevA will bring her own cultural flare to the festival with her "Afro-Soul" grooves. Her show combines powerful English and Amharic texts to bridge the gap between the two cultures.

Plus, violinist and singer Keren Tannenbaum will perform a whimsical and visionary compilation of originals songs and new arrangements, all with an emphasis on strings, and the critically acclaimed jazz guitarist Inbar Fridman is blessing us with a special quartet performance.

All this and more this march.
