For the fifth year running, Jerusalem is introducing the Old City’s rich musical traditions to the public. From ancient to modern, music will sweep the whole city, connecting us to the stones in the ground and the diverse people of Jerusalem. Melodies will echo from central stages and from streets, with bands and ensembles playing melodies specifically authentic to each quarter’s culture.

There will be a range of instruments and ensembles resembling the uniqueness of each group and their beauty of their religion or heritage, like an authentic Armenian celebration in the Armenian Quarter, biblical scenes in the Christian Quarter, traditional music in the Muslim Quarter, and more.

Meanwhile, more modern sounds will seep in between, with live Israeli pop and rock every night at Hurva Square and the Open Cardo, an area designated to jazz funky African beats, a Yemenite blues event, live music every night at Jaffa Gate and the Tower of David Museum, an open street music festival on the Ben Shetach pedestrian street, and much more. There will even be music events so unique that the sounds won’t sweep the street, like the silent disco headphone party on Saint George Street.

The festival will be set up on a circular route starting from Jaffa Gate, winding through the Armenian, Jewish, Muslim, and Christian quarters before ending back at Jaffa Gate. Don’t miss Jerusalem’s four day event March 20-23, packed with free live concerts and shows from 19:00- 23:00 every day. Take in Jerusalem’s magical atmosphere through an incredible collage of the the Old City’s most authentic sounds. For more information visit:
