Honored with numerous Tony Awards and a number of successful runs on Broadway over the years, the musical Chicago is an NYC mainstay. The current production showcases Israeli singer Shiri Maimon as its lead star: Roxie Hart.
The plot takes place during the dry era of the 1920's in Chicago, USA. Chicago tells the story of Roxie Hart - a housewife who kills her lover after giving her false hopes. The fear of conviction leads her to fool the public, the media, and her cellmate - Velma Kelly. Roxie Hart leases the services of Chicago's No. 1 criminal lawyer, who helps her turn her abominable crime into sensational media headlines that could easily be derived from today's newspapers.
Premiere on Broadway - Starting September 21st, The musical is now showing at Ambassador Theater, New York
