Israeli singer Shiri Maimon lands the lead role in the musical that broke Broadway records: CHICAGO

Honored with numerous Tony Awards and a number of successful runs on Broadway over the years, the musical Chicago is an NYC mainstay. The current production showcases Israeli singer Shiri Maimon as its lead star: Roxie Hart.

Shiri will perform in Chicago alongside the current production stars: Amra-Faye Wright as Velma Kelly, Tom Hewitt as Billy Flynn, Evan Harrington as Amos Hart, Cady Huffman As "Mama" Morton and Ryan Lowe as Mary Sunshine.
 
The plot takes place during the dry era of the 1920's in Chicago, USA. Chicago tells the story of Roxie Hart - a housewife who kills her lover after giving her false hopes. The fear of conviction leads her to fool the public, the media, and her cellmate - Velma Kelly. Roxie Hart leases the services of Chicago's No. 1 criminal lawyer, who helps her turn her abominable crime into sensational media headlines that could easily be derived from today's newspapers.
