In the days of brands and fashion chains collapsing one after the other, it's nice to get excited about a local label, but that's not the only reason to party in the name of SACKS summer collection. This collection is doubly exciting because their previous collection (winter) was not very successful, and even caused loyal customers to question their relationship with the veteran brand.

So what exactly caused the cloud of doubt to dissipate and restore faith in SACKS? In general, the collection conveys the dreamy illusions of permanent vacationing: long, warm, and worry-free summer days in photogenic location. Real life, as you've probably noticed, is not a dreamy Instagram feed, yet even when brand owner Ronit Halfon shows a thin crochet top ("for when you go down to the pool and need something to throw on"), something of the illusion works, even if we're only throwing that crochet top on to hop downstairs to the AM-PM for milk and cottage cheese.

The collection hosts a respectable amount of items with comfortable cuts, and faded colors made of thin, breathing fabrics. The resort nature of the collection is expressed in liberated and loose cuts that allows one to bend over without worrying about popping a button; cotton fabrics, linen and silk, and a successful combination of floral inspiration taken from East Asian gardens, the Mediterranean summer climate, the traditional galabia, and wide blouses tops. Expect everything from bell sleeves and open lace at the neck – one of the most prominent trends of the season – to tassels and handmade embroidered details.

As far as the accessories are concerned, start saving your shek for round straw bags, silver mule slippers (also in red or polka dots), pink bucket hats, and more, in the hopes that they will emulate vacation even on King George Street in August.
